A fabulous stamped brass oval plate handle, made from original press tools at the armac brassworks. A super scottish thistle design. Antique finish. 3-3/8" (86Mm). These are a true replica of late 18th century designs still manufactured in their original method. These type of handles are very popular with restorers and repairers as the shape of plate is often referred to as a 'cover-all' in that it easily masks earlier fitting marks and drillings. Both sheraton and chippendale used these handles extensively into the early years of the 19th century. |
